  • Health practice, communication and innovation; investigates the changes in health systems and health professional practice in response to major health reforms. It provides insights into how a more effective and responsive health workforce can be developed and supported in achieving sustainable system and practice change.
  • Learning in Work and Life; investigates practice and learning in all spheres of social life, including work, formal education and community. It builds on a strong foundation of workplace, organisational and professional learning undertaken by key researchers in the Centre and is particularly interested in the changing relations between formal education, including higher education, work and professional practice.
  • Pedagogical practice and innovation; concerned with teacher and student learning in formal and informal settings. It informs innovative policy and practice to contribute to relevant, equitable and sustainable education in a global, digital society.
  • Language and change; focuses on language use and learning in local and global communities. Central to the concerns of this research stream are changing language practices in educational and other institutional and community settings, with a focus on multilingualism (a diversity of languages), multimodality (diverse modes of meaning making) and multiliteracies (diverse literacy practices).
